Each weight class in the UFC is assigned official rankings, with the champions and top 15 contenders listed made available on the UFC’s official website.
The rankings themselves are decided upon by a voting panel, comprised of media members from across the world. Each member of the panel submits their top 15 fighters for each weight class every week, as well as their top 15 pound-for-pound rankings – there are the best 15 male and female fighters across all of UFC, regardless of weight class.
Those lists are then combined to produce the official lists, which are updated every Monday and displayed at UFC.com/rankings.
As of October 2022, Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski led the men's pound-for-pound rankings, while Bantamweight and Featherweight champion Amanda Nunes topped the women's pound-for-pound rankings.
Some MMA publications and websites offer their own UFC rankings, although those published by the UFC are considered official.
